Travel + Leisure Magazine has recognized “The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii” among its prestigious “T+L 500” list for 2010.  Eleven Fairmont Hotels & Resorts made the annual list of World’s Best Hotels, including five Fairmont properties in Canada, three in the U.S. and three in Kenya.

“We are genuinely delighted to have been selected for the T+L 500 once again said Ian Pullan, General Manager of The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii. “This achievement, including the unique features that have been highlighted alongside our score, confirms that discerning travelers appreciate Fairmont for our hotels’ distinctiveness, excellence and commitment to personalizing the entire guest experience.”

T+L rates The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and The Fairmont Banff Springs at the peak of luxury resorts in the Canadian Rockies, while The Fairmont Chateau Whistler in British Columbia was rated the top ski resort in Whistler. The Fairmont Waterfront and The Fairmont Vancouver Airport were also selected as top properties in Vancouver and the Vancouver Area.

In the United States, The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle joined Fairmont’s Hawaiian resorts including The Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui as the best in their respective regions.

Fairmont’s three Kenyan properties were also named as “World’s Best”, including the Fairmont Mara Safari Club in the Masai Mara; Fairmont The Norfolk in Nairobi and the history-rich Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club in the area of Nanyuki.

Made up of the 500 properties receiving the highest rankings in Travel + Leisure’s annual “World’s Best Awards” reader survey, editors fleshed out the guide with essential information and expert tips.  Top 500 rankings include notes on unique features, best rooms and a “Great Value” category as well as a “T+L Picks” for entertainment and outdoor activities.
